Remote Commissioning Free of Charge during Covid-19

Travel restrictions prevent us from visiting our customers and they prevent us from commissioning our equipment at the customer's premises as usual. However, they do not prevent us from looking for ways to put the equipment into operation remotely together with the customer.

In the last few weeks remote commissioning has become daily business – it is somehow the new reality. Here are some examples:

The company Storck has been the first customer with this kind of virtual experience. Together with our Development Manager Dr. Thorsten Hauschild and our Global Key Account Manager Knut Szemjonneck, a laboratory device for measuring starch was set up – we wish you much success with the new device!

We were also able to successfully put a laboratory device into operation in the pharmaceutical sector, namely for measuring empty gelatine capsules for Qualicaps Europe. Persons from different offices and from their home office in Germany and Spain made possible by video conferencing what previously seemed to be possible only by personal visit: Thanks to José Ramón Cerezo, Technical & Sales Manager at our local representative, Farma Alimenta, Jose Luis Encinas, Engineering & Continuous Improvement Manager at our customer Qualicaps Europe as well as to Carmen Diaz, our Key Account Manager with the support of Gerald Gallitz, our service engineer - congratulations!

Probably the most challenging commissioning finally took place in the Netherlands at the end of April. The aim was to commission an online device at our customer Vobra, a pet feed producer, where Marjoke Collombron and Jos van Empel followed the instructions on site. The project was accompanied by Dewy Stoorvogel and John Rijksen from Innius, a software company focusing on the digitalisation of production processes with the aim of recognising the value of data driven production. Also involved was Bert Mannes from Van Mourik, a mechanical and plant engineering company. The commissioning was carried out by our distributor Inventech with Kees van der Sar and Jaap Duijvesteijn, prepared and supported by Torben Teichert, our deputy head of service from our head office in Hamburg. Five companies, eight people, one measuring system - that's how teamwork works in times of Covid-19.

We are pleased and a little proud to have successfully managed the first remote commissionings. So we are ready to set up many of our systems even in times of Covid-19 - no reason to postpone the purchase of our measuring equipment. And as a special offer this service is free of charge during Covid-19 - we want to support our customers as much as possible.

Independent of Covid-19 we will certainly continue to develop this path in the future - but we are also very much looking forward to meeting our customers and business partners in person again!
