We would like to point out that data transmission over the internet (e.g. when communicating via email) may have security vulnerabilities. Complete protection of data from access by third parties is not possible.

Controller Information

The controller for data processing on this website is:

TEWS Elektronik GmbH & Co. KG

The controller is the natural or legal person who alone or jointly with others decides on the purposes and means of processing personal data (e.g. names, email addresses, etc.).

Note on Data Transfer to the USA and Other Third Countries

We use tools from companies based in the USA or other data protectionally unsafe third countries. When these tools are active, your personal data may be transferred to these third countries and processed there. We would like to point out that these countries may not guarantee a data protection level comparable to that of the EU. For example, US companies are obligated to provide personal data to security authorities without the possibility of the data subject taking legal action against it. Therefore, it cannot be excluded that US authorities (e.g. intelligence agencies) process, analyze, and store your data located on US servers for monitoring purposes. We have no influence on these processing activities.

Data Retention Period

Unless a more specific retention period is mentioned in this privacy policy, your personal data will remain with us until the purpose for data processing no longer exists. If you assert a legitimate request for deletion or revoke consent for data processing, your data will be deleted unless we have other legally permissible reasons for storing your personal data (e.g. tax or commercial retention periods); in the latter case, deletion will occur once these reasons no longer apply.

General Information on Legal Bases for Data Processing on this Website

If you have given your consent to data processing, we process your personal data based on Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR or Article 9(2)(a) of the GDPR if special categories of data under Article 9(1) of the GDPR are processed. In case of explicit consent to the transfer of personal data to third countries, data processing also takes place based on Article 49(1)(a) of the GDPR. If you have consented to the storage of cookies or access to information on your device (e.g. via device fingerprinting), data processing is also based on § 25(1) of the German Telemedia Act (TTDSG). Consent can be revoked at any time. If your data is necessary for the performance of a contract or for pre-contractual measures, we process your data based on Article 6(1)(b) of the GDPR. Furthermore, we process your data if necessary to fulfill a legal obligation based on Article 6(1)(c) of the GDPR.

Data processing may also occur based on our legitimate interest pursuant to Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR. The relevant legal bases for specific cases are provided in the following paragraphs of this privacy policy.

Revocation of Your Consent to Data Processing

Many data processing operations are only possible with your explicit consent. You can revoke consent you have already given at any time. The legality of data processing prior to revocation remains unaffected by the revocation.

Right to Object in Special Cases and Against Direct Marketing (Article 21 of the GDPR)

If data processing is based on Article 6(1)(e) or (f) of the GDPR, you have the right to object to the processing of your personal data for reasons arising from your particular situation. This also applies to profiling based on these provisions. You can find the respective legal basis for processing in this privacy policy. If you object, we will no longer process your affected personal data unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing that override your interests, rights, and freedoms, or the processing serves the assertion, exercise, or defense of legal claims (objection pursuant to Article 21(1) of the GDPR). If your personal data is processed for direct marketing purposes, you have the right to object at any time to the processing of your personal data for the purpose of such advertising. This also applies to profiling to the extent that it is related to such direct marketing. If you object, your personal data will subsequently no longer be used for direct marketing purposes (objection pursuant to Article 21(2) of the GDPR).

Right to Lodge a Complaint with the Supervisory Authority

In the event of breaches of the GDPR, data subjects have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in particular in the Member State of their habitual residence, place of work, or the place of the alleged infringement. The right to lodge a complaint is without prejudice to other administrative or judicial remedies.

Right to Data Portability

You have the right to have data that we process automatically based on your consent or in fulfillment of a contract handed over to you or a third party in a common, machine-readable format. If you request the direct transfer of data to another controller, this will only be done to the extent that it is technically feasible.

Information, Correction, and Deletion

Within the scope of applicable legal provisions, you have the right to free information about your stored personal data, its origin, recipient, and the purpose of data processing, as well as a right to correction or deletion of this data. For this purpose and for further questions regarding personal data, you can contact us at any time.

Right to Restriction of Processing

You have the right to request the restriction of processing of your personal data. To do this, you can contact us at any time. The right to restrict processing exists in the following cases:

• If you dispute the accuracy of your personal data stored with us, we usually need time to verify this. During the verification period, you have the right to request the restriction of processing of your personal data.

• If the processing of your personal data was/is unlawful, you can request the restriction of data processing instead of deletion.

• If we no longer need your personal data, but you need it to exercise, defend, or assert legal claims, you have the right to request the restriction of processing of your personal data instead of deletion.

• If you have objected pursuant to Article 21(1) of the GDPR, a balance must be struck between your interests and ours. Until it is clear whose interests prevail, you have the right to request the restriction of processing of your personal data.

• If you have restricted the processing of your personal data, aside from storage, this data may only be processed with your consent or for the assertion, exercise, or defense of legal claims or to protect the rights of another natural or legal person or for reasons of important public interest of the European Union or a Member State.

SSL/TLS Encryption

For security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, such as orders or inquiries, that you send to us as the site operator, this page uses SSL/TLS encryption. You can recognize an encrypted connection by the fact that the browser's address line changes from "http://" to "https://" and by the padlock symbol in your browser's address bar. When SSL/TLS encryption is activated, the data you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.

4. Data Collection on This Website

Cookies

Our website uses so-called "cookies." Cookies are small data packets that do not cause any harm to your device. They are either stored temporarily for the duration of a session (session cookies) or permanently (persistent cookies) on your device. Session cookies are automatically deleted after your visit ends. Persistent cookies remain stored on your device until you delete them yourself or automatic deletion occurs through your web browser.

Cookies can originate from us (first-party cookies) or from third-party companies (so-called third-party cookies). Third-party cookies allow the integration of specific services from third-party companies within websites (e.g. cookies for processing payment services).

Cookies serve various functions. Numerous cookies are technically necessary, as certain website functions would not work without them (e.g. the shopping cart function or the display of videos). Other cookies can be used to evaluate user behavior or for advertising purposes.

Cookies that are necessary for the electronic communication process, to provide certain functions requested by you (e.g. for the shopping cart function) or to optimize the website (e.g. cookies for measuring web audiences) are stored based on Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR, unless another legal basis is indicated.

The website operator has a legitimate interest in storing necessary cookies for the technically error-free and optimized provision of its services. If consent has been obtained for the storage of cookies and similar recognition technologies, processing is carried out exclusively based on this consent (Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR and § 25(1) of the German Telemedia Act); the consent can be revoked at any time.

You can configure your browser to inform you about the setting of cookies and only allow cookies in individual cases, accept cookies for certain cases, or generally exclude them and activate the automatic deletion of cookies when closing the browser. Disabling cookies may limit the functionality of this website. You can find information about the cookies and services used on this website in this privacy policy.

Inquiries via Email, Phone, or Fax

When you contact us via email, phone, or fax, your inquiry including all resulting personal data (name, inquiry) is stored and processed by us for the purpose of handling your request. We do not pass on this data without your consent.

The processing of this data is based on Article 6(1)(b) of the GDPR, if your inquiry is related to the performance of a contract or is necessary for the implementation of pre-contractual measures. In all other cases, processing is based on our legitimate interest in effectively processing the inquiries directed to us (Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR) or on your consent (Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR) if requested; consent can be revoked at any time.

The data you send to us via contact inquiries will remain with us until you request deletion, revoke your consent for storage, or the purpose for data storage no longer applies (e.g. after completing the processing of your inquiry). Mandatory legal provisions - especially retention periods - remain unaffected.

5. Plugins and Tools

Google Fonts (Local Hosting)

This site uses so-called Google Fonts provided by Google to achieve a consistent font display. The Google Fonts are locally installed, and there is no connection to Google's servers.

For more information about Google Fonts, please visit: https://developers.google.com/fonts/faq

and the Google Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en

Google Analytics

This website uses the service "Google Analytics," provided by Google Inc. (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA), to analyze website usage by users. The service uses "cookies" - text files that are stored on your device. The information collected through cookies is usually sent to a Google server in the USA and stored there.

Google Tag Manager

We use the Google Tag Manager. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.

Google Tag Manager provides a technical platform for executing and bundling other web services and web tracking programs by means of so-called "tags". In this context, Google Tag Manager stores cookies on your computer and analyzes your surfing behavior (so-called "tracking"), insofar as web tracking tools are executed using Google Tag Manager. This data sent by individual tags embedded in Google Tag Manager is aggregated, stored and processed by Google Tag Manager under a unified user interface. All integrated "tags" are listed separately again in this privacy policy.

When using our website with activated integration of tags from Google Tag Manager, data, such as in particular your IP address and your user activities, are transmitted to servers of the company Google Ireland Limited. With regard to the web services integrated by means of Google Tag Manager, the regulations in the respective section of this privacy policy apply. The tracking tools used in Google Tag Manager ensure through IP anonymization of the source code that the IP address is anonymized by Google Tag Manager before transmission. In doing so, Google Tag Manager is only enabled to record IP addresses anonymously (so-called IP masking).

We have concluded a corresponding order processing agreement with Google.

We have a legitimate interest in a fast and uncomplicated integration and management of various tools on our website. Insofar as a corresponding consent was requested, the processing is carried out exclusively on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a DSGVO; the consent can be revoked at any time.

Google will store the data relevant for the function of Google Tag Manager for as long as it is necessary to fulfill the booked web service. The data collection and storage is anonymized. If there is a reference to a person, the data will be deleted immediately, insofar as this is not subject to any statutory retention obligations. In any case, the data will be deleted after expiration of the retention period.

You can prevent the collection and forwarding of personal data to Google (in particular your IP address) as well as the processing of this data by Google by deactivating the execution of script code in your browser, installing a script blocker in your browser or activating the "Do Not Track" setting of your browser. You can also prevent the collection of data generated by the Google cookie and related to your use of the website (including your IP address) to Google, as well as the processing of this data by Google, by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available under the following link http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de. 6. Audio and Video Conferences

Data Processing

For communication with our customers, we use various online conferencing tools. The specific tools we use are listed below. When you communicate with us via video or audio conferencing over the internet, your personal data is collected and processed by us and the provider of the respective conferencing tool.

The conferencing tools capture all data that you provide/use to use the tools (email address and/or phone number). Additionally, the conferencing tools process the duration of the conference, start and end times (timestamps) of participation, number of participants, and other "contextual information" related to the communication process (metadata).

Furthermore, the tool provider processes all technical data necessary for conducting online communication. This includes, in particular, IP addresses, MAC addresses, device IDs, device type, operating system type and version, client version, camera type, microphone or speaker, and the type of connection.

If content is exchanged, uploaded, or otherwise provided within the tools, this content is also stored on the servers of the tool providers. Such content includes, but is not limited to, cloud recordings, chat/instant messages, voicemails, uploaded photos and videos, files, whiteboards, and other information shared during the use of the service. Please note that we do not have full control over the data processing activities of the used tools. Our capabilities are largely governed by the respective provider's policies. For more information about the data processing carried out by the conferencing tools, please refer to the privacy policies of the respective tools listed below.

Purpose and Legal Basis for Use

The conferencing tools are used to communicate with potential or existing contract partners or to offer certain services to our customers (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Furthermore, the use of these tools serves the general simplification and acceleration of communication with us or our company (legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). If consent has been obtained, the respective tools are used based on this consent; consent can be revoked at any time with future effect.

Storage Duration

The data directly collected by us via the video and conferencing tools will be deleted from our systems as soon as you request deletion, revoke your consent to storage, or the purpose for data storage no longer applies. Stored cookies remain on your device until you delete them. Mandatory legal retention periods remain unaffected.

We have no influence on the storage duration of your data stored by the operators of the conferencing tools for their own purposes. For details, please contact the operators of the conferencing tools directly.

Used Conferencing Tools

We use the following conferencing tool: "Microsoft Teams"

"Microsoft Teams" is a service provided by Microsoft Corporation. When you access the "Microsoft Teams" website, the provider of "Microsoft Teams" is responsible for data processing. However, you can also use the "Microsoft Teams" tool via the "Microsoft Teams" app. Therefore, the service is provided either through the "Microsoft Teams" website or via the corresponding app.

We use this tool to conduct telephone conferences, online meetings, video conferences, or similar activities (referred to as "online meetings").

Various types of data are processed when using "Microsoft Teams." The extent of the data processing also depends on the information you provide before or during participation in an online meeting. The following personal data is subject to processing: user information such as (depending on the information and choices) display name, email address, profile picture, preferred language; meeting metadata such as date, time, meeting ID, phone numbers, location; text, audio, and video data: during an online meeting, you may use the chat function. Your text input will be processed to display it in the online meeting. To enable video display and audio playback, data from your device's microphone and any built-in camera will be processed for the duration of the meeting. You can disable the camera or microphone at any time using the "Microsoft Teams" app or website. If we intend to record online meetings, we will inform you transparently in advance and, if necessary, request your consent. If it is necessary for the purpose of documenting the results of an online meeting, we will log the chat content. However, this is usually not the case. Automated decision-making as defined in Art. 22 GDPR is not used.

The legal basis for data processing during the conduct of online meetings is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, to the extent that the meetings are conducted within the scope of contractual relationships. If there is no contractual relationship, the legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our interest in the effective conduct of online meetings is the basis for this.

Personal data processed by us in connection with participation in online meetings is generally not disclosed to third parties, unless it is intended for dissemination. However, it is the case that the provider of "Microsoft Teams" necessarily becomes aware of the aforementioned data to the extent provided.

Please note that we cannot rule out the possibility that data routing may occur through internet servers located outside the EU. This may be the case, especially if participants in online meetings are located in a third country. However, the data is encrypted during transport over the internet and is thus protected against unauthorized access by third parties.

The statements above apply to the storage and deletion of data, as well as to your rights.

IP anonymization is used on this website. The IP address of users is shortened within the member states of the EU and the European Economic Area. As a result, the personal reference of your IP address is eliminated. As part of the agreement on order data processing, which the website operators have concluded with Google Inc., this company creates an evaluation of website usage and website activity based on the collected information and provides services related to internet use.

You have the option to prevent the storage of cookies on your device by adjusting the settings in your browser. However, it is not guaranteed that you will be able to access all features of this website without restrictions if your browser does not allow cookies.

Furthermore, you can prevent the collection and use of data collected by cookies (including your IP address) by Google Inc. by using a browser plugin. The following link will take you to the corresponding plugin: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en

For more information about data use by Google Inc., please visit: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245?hl=en
